"I will never forget the day my mom told me to wash strawberries. As a typical inquisitive 4 year old, I asked, 'Why?' Because fruit pickers pick their nose was her response. I then washed them - sometimes.

Now as a 31 year old, I buy organic produce which must mean it is free from boogers and by all means, it best be free from pesticides. But as a med student with a wife, two kids and a mortgage, the wallet feels stress when buying organic produce...."

Nic Says: Some interesting articles on this blog, definitely worth a read. Not saying that I endorse everything, however, definitely good education value. It is through educating ourselves that we can make better decisions about how we choose to live our lives.

Although the effects on the babies are not clear, the survey prompted several members of Congress to press for legislation that would strengthen controls on chemicals in the environment...."

Nic Says: This is an interesting article, click on the link to read more. It is a pretty horrific thought, although I guess not surprising. What is amazing to me, is the adaptability of the human organism, for the most part. It certainly warrants a lot of serious thought and study, as to how much these toxic chemicals influence our health and disease! From my point of view it is just common sense that the effect cannot help be detrimental.
